In the Startup Innovation Week 2022, we interacted with Meraviglia EQ Academy‘s team and had some words. We sent a list of questions to their humble and pleased Founder Ms. Lata Singh and got stunning answers from her.

Q.1 What was your journey? and how did you become an entrepreneur?
Well, I have an IT background and have worked 18+ years with IT companies. During my corporate career, I met with many trainers and coaches and I was inspired by them to do something in the field of coaching and training…that’s when my journey started as an entrepreneur.
Q.2 What was the purpose behind founding MEQ academy and when you founded it?
There are so many organizations that are working toward curing mental health issues, we wanted to prevent mental health issues as early as possible. Our programs are for children, parents, educators, individuals to prevent mental health issues.
We founded MEQ academy in 2018.
Q.3 What makes Meqacademy different from other EQ platforms?
We work toward preventing mental health issues in children and adults. We provide a platform to children and adults where they can share their feelings freely without judgment. We focus mainly on children and provide live one-to-one\group sessions that’s make us unique.

Q.8 Do you think that your startup is providing services at affordable rates?
Yes, our course cost less than a cost of pizza for children.
Q.9 What is your customer base? How many clients/customers do you have? And any revenue achievement?
The last two years have been difficult due to pandemic but we have achieved good clientele online from all over the world.
Q.10 How Emotional Intelligence is important? and what is social-emotional learning?
We are driven by emotions. The more aware we are of our emotions, the more we will manage them and live a good life. Social-Emotional Learning is a skill that helps children and adults practice self awareness, self management , build relations with self and others and take responsible decisions.
Q.11 What is the whole process of becoming a coach at the MEQ academy platform?

Q.12 Do you offer free courses/training? What is the value of your certifications, and where a person can use them?
We do free webinars monthly.
Our paid Certification has helped many people start their own life coaching business successfully.
Q.13 If a person is new to EQ/SEL concept, what would you advise him/her to enroll at first?

Q.15 I did not find any male coach in MEQ academy, any reason for this?
Surprisingly we have not seen any male enrolling to become a kids or parents life coach. In schools also we have seen 95%of employees are women and that’s surprising. This should be changed. We are waiting that male should also step forward to become Kids and Parents Life Coach 😊
Q.16 What kind of support do you provide to the coaches and customers?
Our Coaches get complete training and guidance to set up their coaching business. We also provide them volunteer opportunities to work with NGO and practice coaching.
Q.17 Any achievements your startup earned previously?
We are showcased by StartUp India showcase platform. We have recently participated in India France Innovation Summit and Startup India Innovation Week.
In the past Dec 2019 we have showcased in IIT Delhi and were recognized by GISR Foundation as Best Performer in Startup Awards 2020
Q.18 Any activity your startup has done for contributing to society?
Yes, we do a free mental health awareness program in NGO – Manthan and Navjyoti Foundation.
We have planted 200 trees last year through various events.

Q.21 What is your ultimate vision?
Prevent Mental Health Issue in children and adults. Train 3 lakh teachers by 2023 on the skills of Social Emotional Learning.
Q.22 Any advice for young entrepreneurs?
Believe in yourself. If you can visualize it you can achieve it too. If your idea can solve one single human issues, go for it. It is needed, no matter what people say, Do it even if you don’t have money, it needs courage and not money to work on your idea 😊
