“In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

Every living being on this planet wants freedom whether it be a human or any animal. No one wants to be in bondage or slaves to anyone whether these bondages are of health, social relationships, wealth, or our bad habits. We want to be free from these fetters. But freedom doesn’t come easily. Neither it is achieved by simply wanting or having a desire for it. You have to pay something to get freedom. It takes courage and power to get freedom. Cowardness and attachments to bad habits will never lead you towards freedom. If we are ready to do some actions then it will come easily to you.

“Rich people acquire assets. The poor and middle class acquire liabilities that they think are assets.” – Robert Kiyosaki
1st Step to Financial Freedom
While the field of freedom or independence is wide. Here, we will specifically talk about financial freedom. Ask yourself a simple question – Do you want to be free from all the worries of money and live a peaceful life? I know most of the answers will be in affirmation. Now ask another question – are you doing something which will make you free? Don’t be so quick to answer these questions, think deeply, and take some time.

Most of us want good health and wealth but don’t take the necessary steps to achieve our goals. We are bound by old thoughts such as taking out a loan, buying property, and doing some investments in fixed deposits and gold, that’s all. We don’t think beyond that and hence suffer due to our narrow views. The stock market is a gamble to us. We want to do business but don’t want to learn how to understand the businesses. This is the trap. So get out of this mental trap.
Now let me give you a real-life story. My parents and relatives are in government jobs, including myself. Hence I will tell you how middle-class people think about money. When I talk about investing in some great companies by buying a few stocks, the discussion will go like this. Oh! It’s good but it is very risky to invest in the stock market. You are earning great and taking out a loan to buy a house. Prices of houses are going to rise so quickly that in the end, you won’t be able to purchase a house. You have to spend your whole life in a rented house. Do you want such a life? Most of the relatives and people I know think that way. They just want to purchase a house and think that this is our greatest achievement. But in the end, I have seen them suffer in their old ages because they didn’t manage their finances. I will talk about the cons of buying property on loan in brief in our upcoming article.
So did you notice how middle-class people think in terms of money? They spend their whole lives paying EMI and carry the burden of debt. They will never get a real taste of freedom. They are trapped. Hence I request you all to open your mind and learn more about personal finance. Change your old habits and perceptions about money. Start today so that you live an independent life ahead.
